Jev’s fast rise brought a wave of services that use its name without being run by TypeSafe AI: free APIs paid for by a crypto token, paid gateways that resell Jev at a markup, open models on Hugging Face called “JEV”, and scripts that mass-register TypeSafe accounts. Some are open about being independent; some are useful. But each unofficial Jev API puts another company between you and the model, with your data and often your key passing through it. This page lists what we found, quotes what each service says about itself, and sets out the official routes, which all cost $0.042 per million input tokens.
Official and legitimate routes
These are the ways to reach the real Jev model that TypeSafe documents or that a large platform lists with TypeSafe as the model owner. All charge TypeSafe’s list price: $0.042 per million input tokens, with output free.
| Route | Endpoint or model ID | Who runs it | Mentioned in TypeSafe’s docs? |
|---|---|---|---|
| TypeSafe API | POST https://api.typesafe.ai/v1/systemone | TypeSafe | Yes, the primary route |
| OpenRouter | typesafe/jev-1.13 (alias ~typesafe/jev-latest); /api/v1/systemone or /api/alpha/decisions | OpenRouter | Yes, in the Python SDK guide |
| Vercel AI Gateway | typesafe-ai/jev; TypeSafe-compatible base URL https://ai-gateway.vercel.sh/typesafe | Vercel | Yes, in the Python SDK guide |
| Pydantic AI Gateway | https://gateway-us.pydantic.dev/proxy/typesafe | Pydantic | Yes, in the Python SDK guide |
| Cloudflare | typesafe/jev in the model catalog, marked “third-party” | Cloudflare | No, but Cloudflare links to TypeSafe’s own model and legal pages |
The official clients are TypeSafe’s Python SDK (pip install typesafe-sdk) and JavaScript SDK (@typesafe-ai/sdk). Vercel’s AI SDK provider, @ai-sdk/typesafe-ai, also talks to api.typesafe.ai by default. Its docs make a point that applies to every tool on this page: if you change the base URL, “the configured server receives the API key and decision state.” Our Jev AI API guide has working examples for each route.
OpenJEV and the $JEV token
OpenJEV calls itself “The First Public Jev API” and offers free calls at api.openjev.sh/v1/systemone. Its home page explains the funding: it “channels creator fees from $JEV trading into a treasury that pays for Jev inference.” You don’t need to hold the token to use the API. According to OpenJEV, requests go on to Jev through OpenRouter.
What OpenJEV’s own pages say:
- Affiliation: it is “not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TypeSafe AI”, and its terms say TypeSafe “did not create, issue, or endorse” the token.
- Reliability: free access “runs on shared capacity”, limits can change, and access can end at any time. “Unlimited” still has per-key rate limits.
- Model version: its
openjevmodel follows whatever Jev version is current, so you can’t pin one. - Data: your state and questions are forwarded to the model provider and not stored unless you save them; request metadata is logged, and the privacy policy says public wallet data may be analysed and shown on the site.
- Operator: no company is named; it describes itself as an independent community project.
- Token: CoinGecko lists
$JEVon Robinhood Chain. OpenJEV’s terms describe it as “a community memecoin with no intrinsic value”.
An MCP server, markylaredo/openjev-mcp, uses OpenJEV as its back end. Its README says your state “is processed by TypeSafe’s hosted service”; per OpenJEV’s own pages, it first passes through OpenJEV and OpenRouter.
Paid resellers
jevtypesafeai.com is run by CODEFASHION TECH LTD and says in its footer that it is “Not affiliated with or endorsed by TypeSafe AI.” It sells prepaid packs of Jev access:
| Where | Price per 1M input tokens | Compared with list price |
|---|---|---|
| TypeSafe, OpenRouter, Vercel, Cloudflare | $0.042 | List price |
| jevtypesafeai.com, $100 pack | $0.25 | About 6× |
| jevtypesafeai.com, $5–$20 packs | $0.42 | 10× |
Its keys start with jv_live_ and it uses its own endpoint, /api/v1/decide. Its terms offer no uptime guarantee, say the upstream provider controls availability and model versions, and advise production users to “obtain access directly from TypeSafe AI”. The pricing page says credits never expire, while the terms say they may expire on inactive accounts. Its privacy policy says requests are forwarded to TypeSafe and, as a failover, to an AI gateway.
The MCP server codaaiteam/jev-mcp, whose repository homepage is jevtypesafeai.com, sends any key starting with jv_live_ to that gateway and any other key to TypeSafe. Our Jev MCP guide notes this. Another site, jev-agent.com, also sells Jev credit packs with an affiliation disclaimer.
A key’s prefix doesn’t tell you who issued it. TypeSafe’s docs don’t document a key prefix, and third-party projects disagree about which service issues jv_live_ keys. Check the base URL your code calls instead.
“JEV” models on Hugging Face
Search Hugging Face for Jev and the top results include models from an account called autotrust: JEV-9B, JEV-27B, JEV-27B-VL, JEV-35B and a Gemma-based JEV-Gemma4-26B-A4B, all Apache-2.0, created between 23 September and 11 October 2026. JEV-27B-VL alone showed about 1.5 million downloads on 11 October.
- They are not Jev. The JEV-27B card calls it an “independent open-weights student” by AutoTrust AI, fine-tuned from Qwen3.8-27B. The others are fine-tunes or adapters on Qwen3.5 or Gemma 4.
- Most cards say so. JEV-27B, JEV-9B, JEV-35B and the Gemma model state they are not affiliated with TypeSafe and share no weights or code with it. The JEV-27B-VL card, the most downloaded, has no such statement.
- Trained on Jev’s answers. The cards point to a training set whose labels were “distilled from Jev 1.13 (TypeSafe) via OpenRouter”. TypeSafe’s customer agreement (§2.3(b)) prohibits using its outputs for model distillation. Whether that applies here is between those parties; we note it because it could affect the models’ future availability.
- Accuracy claims are self-reported. The JEV-27B card says the model is “indistinguishable” from Jev 1.13 on its own measure. No independent leaderboard we checked confirms that.
TypeSafe publishes no models on Hugging Face. A user account named “TypeSafe AI” exists there but is empty, and nothing on TypeSafe’s sites links to it. If you want an open model, choose one whose maker and method are public, such as Clef, Kev or pplx-decider; see Jev alternatives and Is Jev open source?
Sign-up bots and account pools
When TypeSafe opened sign-ups in late September, scripts appeared on GitHub to exploit new-account credits. Futureppo/typesafe_register, with 133 stars, describes itself as a TypeSafe registration machine for “unlimited jev” and batch-creates accounts and API keys. Others automate the full sign-up flow with temporary email inboxes, or run a proxy that rotates requests across a pool of accounts. Some of these READMEs tell users to follow the target service’s terms.
TypeSafe’s terms are clear on the main points:
- The customer agreement (§8.2(b)) forbids creating more than one account to receive extra promotional credits, and lets TypeSafe suspend accounts that do.
- It also forbids sharing access credentials and offering the service to others as a standalone service (§2.3–2.4).
- The acceptable use policy forbids access through unauthorised means and getting around security measures such as CAPTCHAs.
If you are offered cheap or free Jev keys from a pool, expect them to stop working, and remember that whoever runs the pool sees every request you send.
How to check any Jev API
- Who runs it? Look for a named company, terms of service and a privacy policy. Official TypeSafe services are only on
typesafe.aiand its subdomains. - Where does your request go? Check the base URL in your code or MCP config, not the product name. Every hop sees your state, and a third-party key is held by that third party.
- What does it cost? The list price is $0.042 per million input tokens with free output. Anything higher is a markup; anything free is paid for by something else.
- Can you pin the model? Official routes let you choose
jev-1.13.0. Some proxies only offer a moving alias. - What happens to your data? TypeSafe says Jev is not trained on customer requests. A proxy’s policy is its own; read it.
- Is a token involved? If a service’s funding depends on a crypto token, its future depends on that token’s trading volume.
A quick way to see where an SDK-based tool is sending your key is to check the base URL environment variables it reads:
# Official TypeSafe SDKs (unset means the default, https://api.typesafe.ai)
echo $TYPESAFE_BASE_URL
# Vercel's AI SDK provider reads a different variable
echo $TYPESAFE_AI_BASE_URLIndependent projects aren’t bad by default. Many open-source Jev tools in our ecosystem directory call TypeSafe directly with your own key, and we flag the ones that don’t. For background on the company and which of its products are official, see TypeSafe AI.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free Jev API?
Not from TypeSafe. OpenJEV (openjev.sh) offers free Jev access that it says is funded by trading fees on a $JEV crypto token; it is not affiliated with TypeSafe and says limits can change or access can end at any time. For low-cost testing through legitimate channels, OpenRouter and Vercel AI Gateway sell Jev at TypeSafe's $0.042 per million input tokens, and open models such as Laya are free to run yourself.
Is the $JEV token connected to TypeSafe AI?
We found no evidence that it is. OpenJEV's own terms call $JEV a community memecoin that TypeSafe AI did not create, issue or endorse. We found no statement about it on TypeSafe's website, docs or legal pages, and a Korean outlet reported in September 2026 that it found no evidence TypeSafe issued any Jev-named token.
Is jevtypesafeai.com the official TypeSafe site?
No. Its own footer says it is run by CODEFASHION TECH LTD and is not affiliated with or endorsed by TypeSafe AI. It sells prepaid Jev access at $0.25 to $0.42 per million input tokens, roughly 6 to 10 times TypeSafe's $0.042, and its terms advise production users to get access directly from TypeSafe.
Are the autotrust JEV models on Hugging Face from TypeSafe?
No. Their model cards describe them as independent open-weights students trained by AutoTrust AI on labels distilled from Jev 1.13, built on Qwen or Gemma, and most cards say they share no weights or code with TypeSafe. The most-downloaded one, JEV-27B-VL, has no affiliation disclaimer. TypeSafe has not released Jev's weights.
What is the official Jev API endpoint?
POST https://api.typesafe.ai/v1/systemone, with a key from console.typesafe.ai. TypeSafe's SDK docs also show OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway and Pydantic AI Gateway as ways to connect, and Cloudflare lists Jev as a third-party model. All charge $0.042 per million input tokens with free output.
Can I use an account-pool or sign-up bot to get free Jev credits?
TypeSafe's customer agreement forbids creating more than one account to get extra promotional credits, and its acceptable use policy forbids access through unauthorised means and getting around CAPTCHAs. Accounts that break those rules can be suspended, so keys from pooled or bot-made accounts can stop working without warning.
